Pound & Pence Pub and Restaurant, an authentic English Pub is marrying the best of traditional pub decor with contemporary American-influenced cuisine. The décor features a traditional English pub atmosphere with several “snugs” for semi private get-togethers. The furniture and the etched glass windows were designed and manufactured in the UK, creating the authenticity of an English pub. Two large 10 x 6 murals over looking the room were commissioned in a sepia tone, with intricately detailed, late 1800’s, street and pub scenes. Dark-stained wood paneling covers the walls downstairs accentuating the warm feeling of the pub. A 50-foot copper top bar exudes old-world charm. Pound & Pence also features a mezzanine living room, as well as a library room, where guests can unwind from a demanding day. There, one may indulge in a brandy and relax in the luxurious leather wing chairs while reading a book, or while challenging a colleague to a game of chess, snooker or billiards. In the restaurant’s separate dining room, traditional tavern chairs and tables create a “market-like environment”. The dining room and bar flooring were installed with 5-inch wide planks using exposed old-fashioned wood pegs as fasteners. Historic/vintage signs complete the decoration of the walls. The cuisine is Pub Fare with popular American influences, with such traditional offerings of English favorites including Shepard’s Pie, Bangers ‘N’ Mash, Fish and Chips, Guinness Beer Battered Shrimp and Indian Chicken Curry over Basmati rice. Home favorites such as filet mignon, peppercorn crusted Ahi Tuna, 10 oz. steak burgers, spit-roasted organic chicken and buffalo chicken wings are also presented on the menu. Libations include an extensive English beer list featuring 10 on draught, and 30 different beers by the bottle. Favorites include London Pride, ESB, Boddingtons, in addition to Bass and Guinness. Pound and Pence features over a dozen different English Gins and a world class collection of scotch and cognacs. The Pub features multiple televisions as well as a 10 foot high definition Projector Screen to view the best of the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL as well as Professional Soccer. We also offer full service catering, so whether you want some of our tasty cuisine to go, spread some cheer at our friendly bar, compete in our dart league or pool tournaments, Pound & Pence is the place to be! |
